About: The Center for the Study of Democracy is an independent public policy institute based in Sofia, focused on strengthening democracy and supporting evidence-informed policy development.

In PERiSCOPE: CSD strengthens PERiSCOPE’s evidence base and policy relevance by analysing strategic disinformation narratives and supporting regional dialogue. It conducts an evidence-based review of disinformation narratives in Bulgaria and neighbouring countries, focusing on themes such as anti-EU/NATO sentiment, migration and identity-based manipulation, and uses this to develop tailored messaging frameworks to counter these narratives. Building on these insights, CSD convenes regional, multi-stakeholder policy dialogue and roundtable exchanges to share best practices and shape coordinated responses to systemic disinformation narratives.
