PERiSCOPE PressRelease M5 Update: Ethics, Youth Fact-Checking and Early Engagement

PERiSCOPE is now fully underway and May marked our first month of major public-facing activities. From professional discussion on ethical dilemmas in the fight against disinformation to youth-driven fact-checking and hands-on civic engagement, partners across Europe are already delivering actions that strengthen democratic resilience and promote responsible information practices.

    Highlights from May 2026

    1. Ethics in the fight against disinformation (online webinar, 19 May)
EU DisinfoLab hosted an interactive webinar focused on real-world ethical dilemmas in countering disinformation—from transparency and harm reduction, to responsible engagement and the use of AI tools. The session also introduced a new PERiSCOPE short course on disinformation ethics designed for journalists, educators, civic actors and AI practitioners.
